Shredded Hopes

Ok so a few weeks before Christmas break My friend posted this status stating "ask me about my 90 day challenge". Me being the curious cat that I am I decided to ask . What she told me was that she was doing a 90 day health challenge. In the beginning it sounded like a good idea but as she continued to explain what this challenge consisted of I became a skeptic. Basically in short for this challenge you had to pay for a package of protein shake mix ( approximately 90 dollars for one month for the cheapest package. So around 270 for the whole 3 months). But here is the catch if you can recommend 3 people before the end of the first month you can get the rest of the protein mix for the next months of the challenge free. Starting off I automatically thought this is some type of scam but I continued to listen to what she had to say for two reasons. First she seemed so dedicated to it and I was proud that she actually had found something to feel good about instead of taking drugs ( although it could have been a front so she could get 3 references ) , second it did spark my fancy a little . So as she continued she stated what you had to do for the challenge is to replace 2 meals with a shake and eat one real "sensible" meal if that was not a red flag there was more. She took me to this girl who said she was on it for 2 weeks and had already lost 11 pounds . "argh?" in *scooby doo voice*. From that information I had so many questions. Being that my mom is a nurse I was thinking how safe this was health wise.  For instance are you getting all your nutrition if you replace 2 meals? Its definitely not safe to loose that much weight in such a short time . Are you going to gain it all back ? What happens once you get off of this challenge ? And the only answers I could gain from my friend was that  it was safe to lose all that weight and to replace meals because it contains so many vitamins in it, and that you will never want to get off of it because you will love it so much. So being the skeptic I am I decided to do my own research and seeing how this is relatively new many people said it did work . so i considered it but then I remembered that it was 270 dollars. I don’t have that kind of money to be wasting so that "dream " of using it kind of just crashed. I wasn’t too mad seeing how it was kind of sketchy anyway. well today when my dad went to work he meet a men who had bought a month supply of this stuff and decided not to use it . So of course I’m curious about it . So I’ve decided since it is free I will give it one month and if there is a dramatic change I will consider doing it . Wish me luck !! If anything happens to me and if there are any unsightly side effects I will tell everyone about it. I will post before and after pictures if there is a change and once a week I will post what has been going on.
